Press Release: On the murderous bomb attack in Ankara

SYRIZA expresses its revulsion for today’s double bomb attack against a peace really, organized by trade-unions, social organizations and left political parties in Ankara.

The result of the double explosion, that took place in the gathering space of the members of HDP, was the death of at least 30 demonstrators and the injury of hundreds.

This murderous attack does not constitute an isolated event, but comes as an addition to tens of other bloody, parastatal, military and police attacks against the pro-kurdish and pro-peace movement and the Left.

Erdogan’s regime is liable for the climax of the offensive against peace and democracy in Turkey and the wider region.

SYRIZA strongly condemns today’s attack and expresses its solidarity and condolences to the families and the comrades of the tragically lost activists.

The only response to the regime of terror is the reinforcement of the struggle for the victory of democracy and peace in our tormented neighborhood.

We call for participation in tonight’s protest rally, at 6.00 pm, in Syntagma Square.
