The murderous assault by the Israeli army against Palestinian protesters, in view of the transfer of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, is causing dismay. 

The international community must strongly condemn the attacks by the Israeli army, which have resulted in dozens of dead and hundreds injured. 
The UN and the EU, as well as the Arab League, are called upon to undertake immediately an international peace initiative. We unequivocally support the solution of the Palestinian issue through the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian State at the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital and the peaceful coexistence of the two States. Peace and the resumption of negotiations are the only way for the harmonious coexistence of the peoples of the Middle East.
